Organizing Offers with Service User Groups

Service User Groups make it possible to differentiate service shop offers for different user groups within one customer.

An example use case:

  • A service provider maintains one offer package per each of its customers.
  • Within each offer package there are all offers intended for the given customer.
  • Some of the offers in the package are intended for all users belonging to the customer, some are available only to specific groups of users.
  • These specific groups of users are defined as Service User Groups belonging to the given customer.

Although one offer package per one customer (differentiated internally by Service User Groups) is the expected use case, it is possible to have more packages per one customer, e.g. to differentiate between various periods of time.

Using Service User Groups is one of two ways of offer / offer package administration with regards to end users. In Valuemation GUI this is referred to as 'shop content personalization'.

Shop content can be personalized by:

Although it is recommended to use one of the approaches uniformly for all customers/offers/offer packages, the decision which method to use is done at the offer package level. By settings it is possible to specify which of the two ways is used as a default way when a new offer package is created, go to 'Settings - SRM & Procurement', section 'SRM - Shop', setting 'Shop content is personalized by'. 'Person Condition' is currently the default option in standard Valuemation.
