Assignment of Categories to Shop Offers

One shop offer can belong to more than one category. Category-shop offer assignments are administered in reference catalogs:

  • 'Offers' tab in the category editor
  • 'Categories' tab in the shop offer editor

The recommended way of category-shop offer assignment is to start from the category editor and use the 'Offers' tab to assign all shop offers belonging to the category.

Note that an offer assigned to a subcategory automatically belongs also to all superior categories of the subcategory. For example, if 'Access Rights' is a subcategory of 'User Services' and service 'Change of Access Rights' belongs to category 'Access Rights', it can automatically be also found in category 'User Services'.

It is highly recommended to avoid duplicate assignments in the sense of having the same offer assigned both to a category and its subcategory/supercategory. For instance, 'Change of Access Rights' should only be assigned to category 'Access Rights' and not to 'User Services'.
