Request in Shop

Typical use case scenario: I need a service and I want to request it so I can continue working.

The following actions are involved:

Request in Shop

The action calls the Service Shop which is the main starting point of the Service Request creation.

This particular action is related to the End User Business View only.

The Service Request creation consists of the following stages:

  • Stage 1: Call the Service Shop

    The action can be started:

    • Using the Smart Tile on the Start Page of the End User Business View

Using the tile on the End User start page is the fastest way to open the Service Shop.

Note: If not present, tiles can be easily added by Start Page customization.

    • Using the Smart Tile from the 'Tiles' InfoObject

If available, the 'Tiles' InfoObject provides access to all available Smart Tiles, the Request in Shop tile included.

  • Stage 2: Look up the service

Calling the action opens the main Service Shop workspace. Use the search field or category browser to look up the desired service.

  • Stage 3: Specify the service and add it to the cart

With the service displayed in the Service Shop workspace, there are two possible courses of action:

    • Click the cart button to add the service directly to the cart. Depending on the requested service, either the Cart window or a catalog for selection of source/target objects opens. Make your selections and proceed by clicking the 'Ok' button.
    • Click the 'Configure' link to further specify service details. The service opens in the Configurator window. Use the options selectors to configure the service, then click 'Add to Cart' to add the service to the cart.

Note that the Configure link may not be available for all services.

  • Stage 4: Request the Service

When the service is configured and placed in the cart, request it by clicking the 'Submit Request' button. A service request is created and needs to be processed by responsible personnel.

Note that instead of submitting the request directly the cart can be saved for future use.
