User Manager

User Manager provides tools for administration of Valuemation users. It enables you to manage the users on a number of levels.

The basic roles of User Manager are:

  • User Management

    Activating / deactivating users.

  • Person Mapping

Mapping users to persons in Valuemation. Allows access to information stored in the Person objects (Name, Telephone, Email, etc.). See also Person Mapping.

  • Group Mapping

Mapping users to groups of users. This serves for simplified role and client mapping for more users at one time, see Group Mapping.

  • Role Mapping

Mapping users or groups of users to roles which are then used as profiles in the Authorization Manager, see Role Mapping.

  • Business View Mapping

Mapping users or groups to Business Views. Note that each user must be assigned at least one business view in the 'released' state.

  • Client Mapping

Mapping users or groups of users to data clients, see Client Mapping.

  • Import

Importing users and relevant information from an external (leading) system. See also Import from LDAP.

Note that:

  • User Manager is accessible only to users with administrative access permissions. Users who do not have the required permissions will not find the 'User Manager' item in the Settings menu.
  • The initial user of the system who ran the installation is given administrator rights and can create other users and assign them to roles according to their function/position within the company.
