Catalog Query Selector

The Catalog Query Selector is a useful component which enables you to store the created conditions and queries. Thus, it is possible to save all of the conditions which are used frequently and restore them anytime when you need it. If enabled, the Catalog Query Selector is available for all search modes.

Enabling the Catalog Query Selector

To make the Catalog Query Selector appear in the catalog, it must be enabled in the Valuemation Global Settings or User Settings.

Note: The setting in User Settings always has a higher priority than the setting in Global Settings.

To enable the 'Catalog Query Selector' in Global Settings:

  1. Go to Global Settings > Basic Settings.
  2. Select the 'Show Catalog Query Selector' check box.
  3. Apply the changes.

Now the 'Catalog Query Selector' will be available in the catalog.

To enable the 'Catalog Query Selector' in User Settings:

  1. Go to User Settings > Basic Settings.
  2. Select the 'Show Catalog Query Selector' check box.
  3. Apply the changes.

Using the Catalog Query Selector

Working with the Catalog Query Selector is basically limited to storing a new condition, deleting conditions and restoring the saved conditions.

To store a new condition, do the following:

  1. Define a condition.

A condition node will be created.

  2. Click Save Help Image to save the condition into the Query Selector.

The 'Enter Name' dialog box appears.

  3. Enter a name for the new entry and click 'Create'.

The condition will be stored. Repeat the process for next conditions you want to store.

The 'Public' check box enables you to make a condition or query public. It means that such a query will be available to all Valuemation users in this type of catalog.

Note: The 'Public' check box is available in the dialog box only if a user has permission to execute it. The permission can be granted via the 'Maintenance of public saved queries' standalone action in the Action Customizer. With the permission granted, the user is also able to delete and modify public queries.

To restore the stored condition from the 'Catalog Query Selector':

  1. Click the arrow in the 'Saved filters...' node in the Catalog Query Selector.

A drop-down box with the stored entries opens.

  2. Select the required condition.

The selected condition will be restored into the Column Search definition area.

To delete a stored condition from the 'Catalog Query Selector':

  1. Click the arrow in the 'Saved filters...' node next to the Catalog Query Selector.

A drop-down box with the stored entries opens.

  2. Delete the selected condition by clicking the red cross icon Help Image on the right.
