Images in Service Requesting

Graphical representation is an important part of the Service Request functionality. It is based on images assigned to item classes, item types and offers. These images are then displayed with individual items in the Shop using an algorithm selecting available images from the most specific (i.e. assigned to offers) to the most generic (i.e. assigned to item classes).

The image assignment uses an interplay of several types of image attributes. Let's demonstrate on item types. Examining the item type editor reveals three image-related attributes:

  • Picture in the Master section

The picture used by all related offers in the Shop unless an offer has its own picture assigned. If no picture is assigned to an item type, corresponding item class picture is inherited.

  • Shop Picture (Pictures section)

The main picture of the item type which will be used in the shop for all related offers which do not have their own picture assigned. An image pasted here is also added to the attachments.

  • All Pictures (Pictures section)

Picture Viewer control displaying all images in the object's attachments. It enables browsing through the attached images and opening of the 'Attachments' dialog for general administration of all object attachments.
