The section contains settings relating to older SRM & Procurement functionality.

  • Offer Saved Carts

    Setting enables now deprecated functionality which in previous Valuemation versions prevented unintentional duplicating of requests. It added to the 'Request Product or Service' action an additional step asking the user if a previously saved and unprocessed cart should be used for the current requesting.

  • Select Category (Rich Client) / Select Collection

    Each of these options adds an extra step to the 'Request Product or Service' action.

    • Selection of category - in the Rich Client where the tree filter cannot be used
    • Selection of collection - an alternative for category selection dating to Valuemation versions prior to 4.3.

    These two options are mutually exclusive.

  • Add Item Types... Search In

    Options applied to the 'Add Item Type' action which is no longer used in requesting. The action is still in use for orders and contracts, and it could be re-implemented for requesting in customer specific implementations. The options are:

    • Preselect option 'Item Types' (default)
    • Preselect option 'Vendor Offers'
    • Preselect option 'Standard Requirements (Deprecated)'
  • Ask for Item Quantity

    If you check this option, the product or service requesting action may activate additional step for requested item quantity. A condition can be specified to enable this functionality only for specific products and services, or only for mass requests, some cost centers etc.

    Regardless of this setting, quantity can be changed laster on in the configurator and on the generated request items.

  • Configurator as Wizard

    'Configurator as Wizard' activates the step-by-step wizard for selection of options used in previous versions by action 'Request Product or Service'.

  • Approver - Selection Filter

    Setting specifying the strictness of request approval person preselection. The options are:

    • Loose: The automatically defined approvers are used as default values which can be changed by the user.
    • Medium: The automatically defined approvers must be used. Only if no preselected approver is provided, then the user can make a selection.
    • Strict: Only the automatically defined approvers can be used.
  • Pictures Folder

    The settings concerns automatic assignment of images to item classes, item types and offers. Automatic assignment is useful e.g. for customization deployment when a set of images can be prepared during customization and then bulk-transferred to live environment.

    The following needs to be done:

    • Images must be put in the directory specified by the 'Pictures Folder' setting.
    • Images must be named correctly, i.e. named exactly as the Valuemation objects to which they are to be assigned.

      If an image file name matches the name of both an item type and an offer, it gets attached only to the item type. Attaching pictures to item types takes precedence because attaching pictures to offers is reserved only for special cases when the offer really needs to be differentiated from other offers.
