Incident - RFC/Change

In Valuemation, it is possible to specify the semantics of the relation between two tickets.

The available types are:

  • Link - a link between two tickets exists without additional semantics.
  • Duplicity - the linked ticked is duplicate with the ticket in the editor.
  • Dependency - the linked ticked is superior to the ticket in the editor.
  • Causality - the linked ticked is inferior to the ticket in the editor.

Example:

There is a default context of the relation between an 'Incident' and 'RFC'. It is in the "RFC / Change is solving the Incident cause" semantic. But this context can be changed to "RFC / Change is the cause of that Incident".

To specify the semantics of the relation:

  1. Open an Incident in the Incident Editor.

On the 'Assigned RFCs' tab, you can see all assigned Requests for a Change (Changes).

  2. Click the 'Edit Link' button to edit a ticket link object and to set the link semantics.

The following options are available: Link, Duplicity, Dependency and Causality.

  3. Select the appropriate Semantics using the available radio buttons.
  4. Click OK to proceed.
