Select Service Parameter

Service Parameter is used to further specify change category, e.g. 'Change Impact Major', 'Change Impact Medium', 'Change Impact Minor', 'Standard Prio 1' etc. This type of categorization requires certain amount of expertise and is usually not done directly by the change initiator. That is why attributes such as Service Parameter, Priority and Impact are not present in the concise end-user change ticket editor (the editor used for change ticket creation and the editor which opens from 'My Assignments' catalogs). To be able to work with these attributes, the responsible person needs to open the already initiated (requested) ticket from one of the general catalogs such as 'Requested RFCs', 'RFCs' etc.

Two scenarios are possible:

  • The initiator created the ticket without service parameter information (e.g. using the 'Create new RFC' action), the information is then added by the responsible person in the complex ticket editor (opened from one of the general catalogs such as 'Requested RFCs' or 'RFCs').
  • The initiator created the ticket using the 'Create new RFC from model' action, in which case the change ticket already has the attribute prefilled on the basis of the model ticket. The responsible person can then evaluate and adjust the categorization.
