URL InfoObjects Customizaton

URL InfoObjects are used to display web pages hosted on the Internet or Intranet. The URL InfoObject catalog is the primary customization place of the URL InfoObjects.

URL InfoObject Catalog

Open the URL InfoObject catalog from the Sidebar InfoObject to define and manage the individual URL InfoObjects. All of the URL InfoObjects listed in this catalog can be found in the InfoObject Selector under the appropriate InfoObject category and can be dragged into the desktop.

Note: The availability of URL InfoObjects in the InfoObject Selector also depends on the Authorization settings. The InfoObjects have to be authorized as Technical Object Types in the Authorization Manager to be available.

URL InfoObjects in the Edit View

If you want to edit the existing URL InfoObject or create a new URL InfoObject, select 'Edit' or 'Create' from the right-click menu. The URL InfoObject editor opens.

The URL InfoObject editor contains the following elements:

Master tab:

  • Name

Internal name of the URL InfoObject.

  • Label ID

LabelID of the URL InfoObject used for the translation.

If set, the Modification Workflow can modify the URL - for instance, a host name or additional parameters for the URL can be added.

There is a template modification workflow available: Template_for_URL_Modification. It has been created as
a template for the creation of Modification Workflows (NOTE: don’t confuse it up with Template Workflows, which can be used in the context of actions).

The workflow contains examples and utility methods for appropriate URL modification tasks and uses the expected input and output parameters. The user can simply copy the workflow and adjust it to the specific requirements. It saves you the need to study how the workflow is to be defined.

  • Translated Description

Translated description of the Modification Workflow.

(Category)

  • Name

Name of the assigned InfoObject Category. You can manage the InfoObject Category assignment using the adjacent control buttons.

  • Released

If selected, the InfoObject appears in the InfoObject Selector. Otherwise the InfoObject is not available there and cannot be dragged to the desktop.

Comments tab:

  • Comments

Enables you to add a personal comment to the specified URL InfoObject.

Note: The selected URL InfoObject can be translated using the 'Translate' button located at the bottom of the editor. The Translate button will launch the Translation of Application Text catalog which enables you to define the translation.
