The page provides settings influencing Valuemation authentication.
- Enable domains in login dialog
Select the check box to add a field for domain selection to the Valuemation login dialog.
For more information about login possibilities, please see also the 'Login' topic in the Valuemation Essentials chapter.
- Enable replacements for restricted characters in LDAP user IDs
Some characters may be unsupported in a particular location of Valuemation deployment. 'Replacement of restricted characters' makes it possible to replace such characters by supported ones.
- Select the check box to enable character replacement in LDAP user IDs.
- To define the replacements, click the 'View/edit character replacement definitions' button. The replacements are defined as mainparameters.
Note: The character restriction has been removed since Valuemation version 4.6. A new mainparameter to switch the character restrictions on/off has been introduced. For details, please see the 'Problems and solutions' topic in the User Manager.
- Case sensitive group names
Select the check box to enable case-sensitivity of group names.
Automatic runtime role-user and/or group-user mapping update has been implemented for J2EE container. The functionality can be switched on/off by a mainparameter. Available for WEB server only.
- Check core version vs. database version during startup
If selected, Valuemation compares its application version and used database version at startup. Major version, minor version and hotfix numbers are compared.
- If the versions are equal, Valuemation correctly starts.
- If the major-minor version pairs of the application and the database differ, a warning message is displayed and the application does not start. This behaviour always applies, regardless of the mode in which Valuemation runs (user, admin, escalation...)
- If there is a difference only in hotfix numbers, then the following applies:
- If Valuemation runs in admin mode, then a dialog box informing about the difference and requesting a confirmation of application startup is displayed.
- If Valuemation runs in user mode (and other non-admin modes), then a warning message is displayed and the application does not start.
