Login - Additional Information

Additional Information to the 'Starting and Closing Valuemation' topic:

  • Password change

During password change, the new password may be subject to password complexity requirements (such as a required minimum length). Consult your system administrator if necessary. For technical information see the 'Password Complexity Check' help section.

  • Simultaneous logins

If you try to log in while a Valuemation session is already running in the same web browser, a "You are probably already logged in!" dialog opens. Make sure the previous session is closed and click 'Continue'. Alternatively, click 'Force Logout' to close the conflicting session and log in. Note that using 'Force Logout' will result in the loss of all unsaved data in the previous session.

  • Adding the domain field

The administrator can add a domain field to the login dialog. See topic 'Authentication' in the 'Global Settings' help section.

  • Multiple database clients

Database clients are mutually exclusive areas of data in the database. If the user is authorized to work with more than one database client, he or she is prompted to select one of the clients during login. It is also possible to switch between clients in runtime using the 'Clients' section of the 'Profile/Settings' drop down control.

Assignment of database clients to users is performed in Valuemation Rich Client, on the Client Mapping tab of User Manager.

  • SSO

Single Sign On authentication enables so called transparent user authentication during login. The application assumes that the user has already been authenticated either by the operating system or 'in another way' - depending on the chosen type of SSO.

Note that for SSO to work as expected in Internet Explorer, it is necessary to add the Web Client server address among the Local intranet websites (Tools -> Internet Options... -> Security -> Local intranet -> Sites -> Advanced...).

Authentication type is set by the administrator. For more technical information, refer to the Authentication and Single Sign On chapters.
