Catalog to Text

This activity exports a catalog to text in CSV format. The parameters define separator, delimiter, number, date and time format. If the separator, delimiter etc. are not defined, the (default) values dependent on the current Valuemation language are used.

Activity Parameter

Function / Meaning

Convert Output to Unicode Ascii

When true, the non-ASCII characters are replaced by escape \uxxxx and the special characters \n, \r, \t, \f are represented by "\n", "\r", "\t", "\f".

Example: The umlaut "ü" is converted to "\u00FC", the new line character becomes "\n".

If false, the specified character encoding is used for character encoding.

Character Encoding

Name of the character encoding. If not specified, the "Cp1252" encoding is used by default.

Examples:

"Cp1250" - Windows Eastern European

"Cp1252" - Windows Latin-1

"UTF8" - Eight-bit UCS Transformation Format

"UTF-16" - Sixteen-bit UCS Transformation Format, byte order identified by an optional byte-order mark

For supported encodings please see also: http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/guide/intl/encoding.doc.html

Include Header

Boolean. If true, the catalog header will be exported as the first line in the file.

Translate attribute names

Boolean. If true, the attribute names used in the header will be translated.

List Separator

The character separating the values on each line.

Delimiter

Character used to quote values. The Delimiter must be an ASCII character (with ASCII code below 128).

Decimal separator

The decimal separator.

Date format

The required date format. Please see also http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html

Time format

The required time format. Please see also http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html

Timestamp format

The required timestamp format. Please see also http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html

Resolve and display value from valueset

Boolean. If true, the translated value of the value set is exported.

Strip new-line characters (CRLF)

When true, the CRLF characters are removed from each value and a single space is used instead. It allows the exported file to be easily readable by Excel and other tools (otherwise the result would be broken in these cases).

Trim Spaces from left

When checked, the leading spaces of string values are removed before the export.

Strim spaces from right

When checked, the trailing spaces of string values are removed before the export.

Export only visible columns

When checked, only the visible colums in a catalog are exported. Otherwise both the hidden and visible columns are exported.
