Send Mail

This activity sends an email. The email content can be defined by individual parameters (FROM, TO, SUBJECT....) or by a mail object.

Activity Parameter

Function / Meaning

Mail Address FROM

The email address of a sender.

Mail Address TO

The email address of a recipient.

Mail Address CC

The CC recipients (i.e. those who are to receive a copy of a message addressed primarily to another).

Mail Address BCC

The BCC recipients (i.e. the recipients listed in the BCC field receive a copy of the message, but are not shown on any other recipient's copy (including other BCC recipients)).

Subject

The subject of the mail.

Text

The text of the email.

Content type

Choose the HTML or Plain text formatting of the email. Note that the 'Print to text' activity basically uses the same option named 'Output Format'.

Send option

There are the following options available: 'Archiving sent emails', 'Send emails with escalation' and 'Send emails ignoring any global send options'. When leaving this option empty, the global setting defined by the 'MailSystem.Send.Option' mainparamter will be used.

Use Workflow Transaction

Boolean. If true, the activity will use the workflow transaction it is running in. If false, it will create a new temporary transaction for sending the email.

Workflow Cancels

Boolean. If true, the workflow will be cancelled if sending the email fails.

Attachments as a semicolon-delimited filenames with path.

Mail Address BCC

The BCC recipients (i.e. the recipients listed in the BCC field receive a copy of the message, but are not shown on any other recipient's copy (including other BCC recipients)).

Mail Address CC

Mail Address FROM

The email address of a sender.

Mail Address TO

The email address of the recipient.

MailObject

The mail object defining the email fields content and attachments.

MailSourceOfAttachments

A list of iternal (source) attachments (for internal use only).

Object Attachments

A list of object attachments.

Rtf-Attachments

A list of picture attachments used in rich text fields (for internal use only).

Send option

There are the following options available: 'Archiving sent emails', 'Send emails with escalation' and 'Send emails ignoring any global send options'. When leaving this option empty, the global setting defined by the 'MailSystem.Send.Option' mainparamter will be used.

Subject

The subject of the mail.

Text

The text of the email.

Use Workflow Transaction

Boolean. If true, the activity will use the workflow transaction it is running in. If false, it will create a new temporary transaction for sending the email.

Workflow Cancel

Boolean. If true, the workflow will be cancelled if sending the email fails.

Sent Successfully

Boolean. If true, the email was sent successfully. Use this argument only when the 'Workflow Cancels' is false.
