Introduction to Valuemation Authorization Management

Authorization Manager is a part of Valuemation which allows security, protection and business rules to be applied while allowing the efficient tailoring of processes. The Valuemation Authorization Manager allows the administrator to set Default Authorization, Authorizations for Business Objects and Authorizations for Technical Objects and also activate/deactivate the the whole permission management. Together with User Manager, it allows the administrator to tailor the exact type of access the users require.

Note: All Authorizations can only be assigned to Roles that have to be previously created in the User Manager.

The main functions of the Authorization Manager are:

  • Authorizations for Business Objects

Creating new authorizations (for the role selected in the List tab) for business objects (the customer data) (see Authorizations for Business Objects).

  • Authorizations for Technical Objects

Creating new authorizations (for the role selected in the List tab) for technical objects in the Valuemation environment (see Authorizations for Technical Objects).

Note: Authorization Manager is accessible only to the users with administrative access rights. Consequently, if you don’t have the required rights, The Authorization Manager item won't be displayed in the Settings menu.

The initial user of the system who ran the installation is given administrator rights and can create other users and assign them to roles according to their function/position within the company.

Note: The Authorization Manager controls access to the User Manager through granting appropriate rights to the action userManager.
