Main Controls

The key buttons found in the editor provide the following functionality:

• Apply

  Applies changes without closing the editor.

• Search and Assign

  Calls a catalog allowing you to pick and assign an object in editors.

• Cancel

  Closes the editor window without applying any changes.

• Edit

  Enables you to edit the selected object.

• Apply and close

  Applies all changes made so far and closes the editor.

• Add new

  Adds a new record, catalog, object or an element in the particular location.

• Remove

  Remove the record, catalog, object or the element from the particular location.

• First

  Displays in the editor the first object listed in the catalog the editor has been opened from.

• Previous

  Displays the previous object listed in the catalog.

• Next

  Displays the next object listed in the catalog.

• Last

  Displays the last object in the catalog.

Navigation among objects using the First/Previous/Next/Last buttons takes into account read-only conditions of the objects. If using the buttons results in a currently locked object (e.g. because it is opened by another user) being displayed, the editor switches to the read-only mode. Navigating to other objects changes the editor mode correspondingly.

Note: Pressing 'Enter' in most of the fields in the Editor starts the default action (e.g. Save). The default action can be set in Authorization Manager.

Note: Sometimes there is also "Search Document" button present among the main controls. This button can be used to call the KnowledgeMiner application and initiate a KnowledgeMiner search with search criteria pre-filled according to settings made in Valuemation.
