Sidebar Settings

Sidebar settings are mainly user-specific, see the User Settings chapter for more information. The few global sidebar settings are:

• Add folder for autostart catalogues into the sidebar

  Option 'Add folder for autostart catalogues into the sidebar' in User Settings specifies whether the Autostarts mainfolder is to be included in the sidebar of the current user.

  Option 'Add folder for autostart catalogues into the sidebar' in Global Settings specifies the default value of this setting for all Valuemation users who have not already modified it.

  The Valuemation administrator can set this property to True to make sure that the sidebar of first-time users will contain the Autostarts mainfolder (and, consequently, that autostart catalogs will open for these users).

• Sidebar Catalog Rendering (web only)
  • Catalog Mask

    The mask defines how a catalog will be rendered in the Sidebar InfoObject when the Show Count flag is selected for such a catalog (this can be customized in the Catalog Customizer / Sidebar Rendering).

    You need to use the following tags in the mask (their order, separators or brackets are up to you):

    %NAME% - The translated name of the catalog.

    %COUNT% - The count of objects matching the catalog query (defined in Catalog Customizer/Query).

    %SPECIAL_COUNT% - The count of objects matching the catalog query & the additional query (defined in Catalog Customizer/Sidebar Rendering).

    If you enclose the tag and usually some text in [ ], the text in the brackets will be printed only if the value of the tag is not empty, e.g [ %SPECIAL_COUNT% / ] will be replaced with '10 / ' only if the the special condition is defined for the given catalog, otherwise the whole text (including the brackets) will not be printed at all.

  • Refresh Time (minutes)

    Refresh time (in minutes) after which the counts in the currently displayed sidebar will be automatically refreshed. Setting the refresh time too low could negatively affect performance as for each catalog and each count tag in the mask, a SELECT statement needs to be executed.
