Create a Building Block

Building Blocks are sets of predefined variables. Workflows can be used to define data inputs and outputs. It is also possible to define a list of Node Types in which the particular Building Block can be used. BPM Building Blocks contribute to the creation of consistent business rules.

To create a Building Block:

1. Open the catalog Building Blocks situated in the Modelling folder.
2. Right-click in the catalog to open the context-menu.
3. Select Create.
4. Creation from WSDL is also available. The Web Service Definition Language source is supported to automatically create Building Blocks - pasting an URL into the field will automatically generate variables in the Building Block.
5. Fill in mandatory fields - Name and Workflow Definition.
6. Define the Output and Input data in the reference catalog Variables.
7. Select the Node Types in which the Building Block will be seen - Node Types reference catalog. If you don't want to limit it, simply let it empty.
8. Save the Building Block.

The Building Block can now be used in Node Types according to the configuration you have done.
