Copying User Environment

To copy a user environment:

  1. Select one or more users in the Table of Users. By the following procedure you can change their user-dependent settings through copying from another user.
  2. Click the Environment button from the Main Controls. The 'Copy Environment' dialog opens.
  3. Specify the currently existing user whose settings will be copied. A search functionality is provided: enter a search phrase in the From User field and click Search. A catalog with all users matching the search phrase will open. Select the user whose user settings you want to copy.
  4. Select which aspects of the environment should be copied.

The following items can be copied:

    • Start Pages (smart tiles arrangement in Start pages of business views)
    • Sidebars (user-defined sidebar content and translations)
    • Layouts (user-defined inclusion/exclusion of InfoObjects)
    • Bookmarks
    • Window settings
    • User-defined business keys
    • User-defined default values
    • User mail and logging settings
    • User-defined mainparameters from path (specify a mainparameter path, otherwise: all paths)
    • Assignments to user groups
    • Assignments to business views
    • Assignments to roles
    • Assignments to clients
    • Read limit for catalogs
  5. Click OK in the dialog to apply the changes. Note that the actual copy will take place only when you save changes to the database, which is done in the next step.
  6. Back in the User Manager window, click Apply to keep changes or, when prompted to save changes on exit, click OK to confirm. The user environment will be then copied.
