Editing and Deleting an Object Type

It is possible to edit and customize the existing Object Types in a number of ways using the Object Type Customizer. For modifying an Object Type, you can use the whole tab structure of the Object Type Customizer. Note that the customizer structure is a bit different depending whether you are editing the Persistent Object Type or Transient Object Type.

To Edit an Object Type, proceed as follows:

  1. Select an Object Type in the Object Type Browser in the Customization Browser window.
  2. Click 'Edit' to open the Object Type Customizer with the selected catalog loaded (see Structure of the Object Type Customizer for more information).

The amount of editing is partly limited by definition. For example, while you can add new attributes and modify their properties, you cannot delete the attributes or rename them for the sake of their possible relations.

Note: Only one user can edit an object type at the same time as the object type is locked when being edited.
