Attachments Customization

Topics in this section deal with aspects of the attachments functionality that can be added or modified by customization.

By default, Valuemation catalog right-click context menu contains the 'Show attachments' action. No customization is necessary to access object attachments from Valuemation catalogs.

Valuemation editors need to be customized, either by

• adding an action button which calls the 'Attachments' dialog, or by
• adding a reference catalog of object attachments

The latter represents a more advanced option with advantages described in 'The Attachments Reference Catalog' topic.

When the reference catalog is added, you may want to replace its generic name by

• specifying a translation for the reference catalog

Some more customization is required to get the full reference catalo functionality when

• adding an attachments reference catalog of objects related to the object in the editor

Furthermore, there are the options of

• enabling searching (in simple search) by object attachments
• specifying a rendering condition (in catalogs) to visually distinguish objects that have attachments
