Data Protection Manager

Valuemation Data Protection Manager helps you to control the accessibility of data in Valuemation and to monitor and enforce deletion periods without additional customizing.

DPM components:

  • The DPM functionality is based on so called Data Rules and Data Rule Actions.

A Data Rule Action defines which data protection action (anonymization, archiving or deletion) will be performed on which data, a Data Rule represents a meaningful set of Data Rule Actions on objects of a given object type.

  • Using so called Data Cases, selected objects can be excluded from data rules execution.
  • All data protection actions are logged into a Data Log. Use this catalog to examine the result of the operations as well as their simulations. This may be especially useful for design and testing of archiving configurations.
  • Data Rule Actions can be either executed manually or in an automated manner governed by a dedicated BPM process, which can be scheduled.

*) Archiving configuration defines the relationships to referenced objects. This information is used for archiving and for deleting. Note that the condition in the archiving configuration is ignored and the condition in the corresponding data rule action is used instead.

**) Anonymization configuration defines how an object is to be anonymized. Note that the condition in the anonymization configuration is ignored and the condition in the corresponding data rule action is used instead.
