Authentication Modes

In general, a user can log into Valuemation using two authentication modes:

  • Standard login dialog

The user must provide a username and password in a login dialog.

The provided credentials are checked for validity by the configured login modules. For example, when the 'S3UserLoginModule' is used, they are checked in the Valuemation database.

  • Single sign-on (SSO)

The SSO login configuration frees Valuemation users from the obligation to enter credentials each time they log in. The Valuemation username is taken from the system or any external authentication system and the user can log into Valuemation without the need to type in the username and password.

Both types of the authentication modes can be used both with the Valuemation Rich client and with the Valuemation Web client.
