Disabling the Translation

Multilingual support for an attribute can be disabled in the following way:

  1. Open the attribute's object type in the object type customizer and switch to the 'Attributes' tab.
  2. Locate the attribute and uncheck the check box in its 'Translated' column of the 'Used Attributes' list.
  3. Click 'Apply' in the object type customizer. A dialog window informing you about the customization change and prompting application restart is displayed. Click 'Yes' to accept the changes and close Valuemation.

Multilingual support was changed by hiding corresponding translation attributes on all catalogs and views of the translated object type. The links from translated attributes to translation attributes are preserved and corresponding '_currentLang' transient attributes are still generated at runtime.

On a deeper level, deleting the translation object type in the object type customizer deletes the link from translated object type to translation object type and the links from translated attributes to translation attributes.
