The Incoming Goods Create Components Editor

The 'Incoming Goods Create Components' editor administers creation of components from received products. The editor has two slightly different modes:

  • Distribute Components To Existing Systems

With the 'Distribute Components To' radio button switched to 'Existing Systems', the newly created components are assigned to an already existing "target" system. The editor header contains a reference view for target system selection.

  • Distribute Components To Multiple New Systems

With the 'Distribute Components To' radio button switched to 'Multiple New Systems', the action creates a configurable number of new systems and distributes the newly created components to these systems. The editor header contains a reference view for selection of a template system on the basis of which new systems will be created and an attribute 'Number of New Systems'. In the 'Incoming Products' tab, the 'Distribute Now' and 'Completed' columns are replaced by column 'Distribute Per System Now' which makes it possible to specify the number of products to be distributed to each of the multiple new systems. If the number of undistributed products is not sufficient for the projected distribution, number of products per system is re-calculated to the highest possible value.

Additionally, the editor header always contains the following fields:

  • Based on

Incoming goods can be based on an order or a contract. When the action is called from a contract or contract item, 'Contract' is preselected.

  • Configuration Date

    Date of the components creation

  • Component Prefix

Prefix used for the created components

The 'Incoming Products from Contract Items' reference catalog contains the following columns:

  • Contract / Item

Identification of the processed contract and the number of individual contract items. Only contract items which can be used for components creation are listed.

  • Contracted Product Type

Product types of the listed contract items. The type of incoming product can be changed using the 'Change Product Type' action.

  • Target

Target quantity of received products/components. Under normal circumstances this is the maximum contracted quantity.

  • Received

Number of already received products of the contracted product type

  • Undistributed

Number of already received products that have not yet been used for creation of components. This number determines the maximum number of components that can be created at the moment.

  • Distribute Now

Number of new components to be created when the action is performed. Use inplace editing in this column to specify this parameter of the action. (Applicable when 'Distribute Components To Existing Systems' is selected.)

  • Completed

Check the check box to indicate that all distributed products should be used for components creation when the action is performed. This can be used as a shortcut in situations when the desired 'Distribute Now' value equals to 'Undistributed'. (Applicable when 'Distribute Components To Existing Systems' is selected.)

  • Distribute Per System

Number of components assigned to each of the multiple systems created as a result of the incoming goods action. The 'Number of New Systems' value must be specified first. (Applicable only when 'Distribute Components To Multiple New Systems' is selected.)

Available Buttons:

  • Distribute Now

Button 'Distribute Now' opens a dialog where the number of components created from the currently selected item in the reference catalog can be specified. Alternatively, inplace editing in the 'Distribute Now' column can be used.

  • Select Products

If it is possible (and necessary) to distinguish between individual received products, this action makes it possible to specify which specific undistributed products will be used for the creation of components.

  • Change Product Type

The action makes it possible to change the product type of the received products. It can be used, for example, if the vendor offers to deliver a newer/better product type to fulfill the contract under otherwise the same conditions.

  • Component Types

The action makes it possible to modify the component type(s) which are to be created from the particular product. Normally, a product is linked to a corresponding component type. However the person performing the components creation step of incoming goods may find that another component type has been delivered for the product. If this situation is still technically acceptable, then the 'Component Types' action can be used to modify the original product - component type assignment.

  • Distribute All

The action checks all 'Completed' check boxes in the reference catalog. It can be used as a shortcut when all undistributed products are to be used for component creation. Note that action 'Distribute All' (as well as 'Distribute Selected') can be processed for max 100 items at once.
