Specify how the rule is triggered.

Depending on rule type selected in the previous step, the second step provides up to four options defining the way in which the rule is triggered.

These options are as follows:

  • Radio buttons A - D

If present, up to for radio buttons for trigger type selection (see dedicated topics for a detailed explanation).

  • Trigger attributes selector

If present, window section labeled 'Please defined the attributes that will fire the rule on changing values' displays attributes of the business object type associated with the rule. Use it to select an attribute (or multiple attributes) whose value change will trigger the rule.

Note: The number of attributes used for rule triggering is not unlimited. As all of the selected attributes are stored as one string, a limit is posed by the string length. If too many attributes are selected (and/or if the selection includes complex relation attributes), a warning message is displayed and the condition cannot be saved. The string length limit is currently 4000 characters.

  • Additional condition

If present, a section for creation of a Valuemation condition can be used to specify additional condition which must be met for the rule to be triggered.

  • Control buttons

'Back', 'Next', 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons for navigation within the wizard, saving the edits and cancelation of the editing process.
