Activate Dynamic Approval Responsibility

It is also possible to specify dynamic approval responsibility. In such case the responsibility is not predefined on the item or the configurable tasks. Instead, the responsible group and person are derived dynamically from each request. For example, the manager of the project linked to the request can be assigned.

Two dynamic responsibility assignments are currently readily available (i.e. without the need to modify Valuemation workflows):

• responsibility by Project Manager
• responsibility by Organization Manager

Activate dynamic approval responsibility by Project Manager

If you activate dynamic assignment of the approval person according to Project Manager, the assignment based on item class, item type or offer will not be possible, and even if any of them already existed, they would be ignored.

The approval person will be derived dynamically for each request according to the leader of the project assigned to the request.

To set up dynamic approval by Project Manager:

1. Create or activate SRM Configurable Task with Task Area = Project Manager.
2. Select Assignment = Dynamic
3. Create a condition which activates the task only if the project is linked to a request.

Activate dynamic approval responsibility by Organization Manager

If you activate dynamic assignment of approval person according to Organization Manager, assignment according to item class, item type and offer will not be possible and even if it existed, it would be ignored.

The approval person assignment is derived dynamically for each request on the basis of information stored in 'Settings - SRM & Procurement', section 'SRM - Approving'. The settings define the order of request relations to person, the first person in the sequence found for a request will be used as the approval person for task 'Approve Request / Organization Manager'.
