The following section serves as a demonstration of the Business Process Module and its integration into Valuemation.

Preparations

Use Case

Imagine a development department of a typical software company. This department needs to send a progress report to the management every month. The report is written partially by each developer and then send for a summary and approval to the department manager before it is sent to the management.

Process Diagram

The above described process can be graphically visualized as follows:

There is a Start Event on the left, followed by a Parallel Gateway. This leads to 2 User Tasks (Developer 1 & Developer 2 Reports), which both need to be fulfilled in order for the process to continue through another Parallel Gateway to the last User Task (Approve and Summarize). The whole process finishes with an End Event.

Open the Business Process Manager - we will be using predefined catalogs in this module. There are always more ways how to achieve your goal. To keep it as simple as possible, only 1 way is shown.
