Metamodel Check of Translations

Valuemation 'Metamodel Check' functionality also checks translations:

  • Translations of object types and attributes are checked by metamodel check 'Translations of Business Object'.

    The following is checked:

    • The occurrences of 'ghost translations', i.e. translations belonging to no longer existing object types and attributes, or so called 'Particular' translations of no longer existing catalogs, views or view rules.
    • If each translation's object type is the same as the object type of the element it is assigned to. For instance, a translation created for object type X must not be assigned to a view based on object type Y.
    • If no duplicate translations exist. For instance, no more that one 'No specialization' translation entry can exist for the same combination of object type and attribute; or no more than one 'Particular' translation entry can exist for the same combination of object type, attribute and a specific catalog.
  • Metamodel check of 'Translations of Application Text' also checks correct use of braces for parameters specification.
  • Translations defined in the customizers are checked by the respective metamodel check, e.g. translations specified in the View Customizer are checked by 'Views' metamodel check, translations specified in the Catalog Customizer are checked by 'Catalogs' metamodel check, etc.

Note: The above used terms 'Views' metamodel check, 'Catalogs' metamodel check etc. refer to the 'Check options' selected in the Metamodel Check window.
