Default Template Report

When executing the Print With action, a catalog of template reports applicable in the given context is shown. If one of the reports gets used so often that it would make sense to call it directly using the Print action, we can mark it as so called Default Template Report for the object type or for the catalog.

  • Default template report for the object type

Marking a template report as default for a particular object type (e.g. System) means that every time we execute the Print action on ANY catalog of this object type (i.e. any catalog of systems), this template report will be used by default.

  • Default template report for the catalog

Marking a template report as default for a catalog (e.g. Productive Systems) means that everytime we execute the Print action on THIS particular catalog, then this template report will be used by default.

The default for object type/default for catalog assignment can be done directly in the Print With report browser.

Assigning the default template reports can be done using the following buttons:

  • Default for object type and Default for catalog

These buttons perform the object type / catalog default report assignment (as explained above) for all Valuemation users. That is why only a user with the 'write' permission for the report object type is allowed to perform these actions.

  • User default for object type / User default for catalog

These buttons perform the object type / catalog default report assignment only for the current user.
