Template Report

Template reports are reports which can be used to print a catalog or its objects in a given context. In other words, template reports for the catalog of systems are reports suitable to print Systems, i.e. those having a table report item or a parameter of the System object type.

Consequently, template reports are the reports offered when the Print With action is called.

For a report to qualify as a template report in a given context, one of the following must be true:

  • The report is a super template report. A super template report is a template report as well and can be always used to print any catalog or object(s), therefore it will be offered in the catalog of template reports when executing the Print With action.
  • The report has no parameters and has at least one table of the same object type as the selected object(s) or catalog
  • The report has exactly one main parameter (which is used in a table or a text report item) of the same object type as the selected object(s) or catalog and
    • if we are printing a whole catalog or more then one object is selected then the parameter must be a collection
    • if we are printing one or more selected objects and the parameter has a report condition then all of the selected object(s) must match the condition.
