It is possible to prepare data in an external application (such as MS Excel) and import this data to Valuemation business objects.

When importing from MS Excel, the data needs to be saved as a CSV file. This file is then imported as an attachment.

Import Plan / Import Plan Item

The action is startable from any catalog or referenced catalog. It starts the Import action. Parameters such as delimiters and separators and other options can be specified in the Settings tab of the 'Object Type File' editor.

Exporting a Filtered Catalog

When a catalog with a column filter applied is exported, the filtering is reflected in the exported output. See more on using the column filter in the Filtering by Column topic in the Catalog chapter.
