Default Modules

When a Valuemation technical object (incl. translations) is created, it needs to be assigned to one or more Valuemation modules. This is to enable selective inclusion of technical objects when Valuemation is delivered with only a subset of business functionality.

When a user with no default module association (e.g. when the user first logs into the given database) first initiates technical object creation, a dialog asking for default module association is displayed. Once the user has a default module assignment, technical objects created by this user are assigned to his/her associated module(s).

Another way to create the module association is using the 'Default module' page of User Settings.

To select a module for default module assignment:

  1. In the 'Available Modules' section of the 'Default Module Settings' page, select the module(s) to be used for default assignment.
  2. Click the rightwards arrow to move the selected modules to the 'Active Modules' section.

Conversely, using the leftwards arrow to move modules from the 'Active Modules' section will remove their default module assignment. Note that at least one module must remain assigned as active module.

Note: Default module assignment is stored as mainparameters. After modules have been assigned in the 'Default module' page of User Settings, it cannot be completely cleared there (at least one module must remain assigned). If it is necessary to clear all assignments, it can be done by deleting the corresponding mainparameter(s).
