Compare

Settings in this folder influence the compare functionality administered by Valuemation Configuration Manager. The functionality makes it possible to compare Valuemation inventory data with reality based on scanned results from external Systems Management tools.

SM Mapping

The check box on the 'SM Mapping' page enables the SM mapping process.

SM mapping is used to pair entries which, in different Systems Management tools, describe the same piece of equipment. This usually involves recognizing the serial or inventory number on each side and allocating an attribute in which it is stored.

Select the 'SM Mapping' check box to enable SM mapping, clear the check box to disable it.

Logging

Use the check boxes in the 'Logging' page to determine how much information about the compare process is logged. Initially it may be helpful to have all information available in order to fine tune the compare process. Once the process has been established, the scope of logged information can be reduced.

The following compare-related information can be included or excluded from logging:

• No rule for this object
• This object was not compared
• This object was compared multiple times
