Deactivating Groups

Using the groups deactivation, the groups are removed from all roles. All users included in the deactivated groups loose (for the time of deactivation) role mappings granted to them by the membership in the deactivated groups.

To deactivate a group:

  1. Select the groups you want to deactivate in the Table of Groups in the left part of the screen. Multiple items can be selected by dragging or holding CTRL or SHIFT while clicking.
  2. Click the Deactivate button from the Main Controls to deactivate selected groups. You will be asked, if you really want to deactivate the group(s). Click Yes to confirm. The groups are made inactive.
  3. Click Apply to keep changes or, when prompted to save changes on exit, click OK to confirm.

NOTE: A deactivated group is not physically deleted and can be reactivated later. Unlike users, groups can be even physically deleted (see Deleting Groups).

NOTE: To switch between views of active and inactive groups, check or uncheck the checkbox Show inactive groups in the bottom of the Table of Groups.
