Service Type

By a service type, Costing & Charging understands the services which a consumer can remove. This can be e.g. CPU consumption, disk capacity, advisory activity, office/home workplace or a special application.

Depending on service types, the prices are defined.

A scale unit must be indicated to each service type. The scale unit makes the conversion of service quantities, which are sent in different units, possible (they are converted into comparable values).

After the definition of a service type, a delivering cost center can be assigned to it. It is assigned to sets of this service type if the input accounting record contains no sending cost center. If the "sending" cost center is already present, then it is useless to make the definition here.

A service type can be put on location-referred. Such different sending cost centers can be assigned at different locations.

Service types of the same type can be combined into purposes of analysis to service classes. It must be paid attention to the fact that only service types with the same fundamental unit are combined into a service class.
