Importing Offers and Offer Packages from External Sources

Import of offer packages and offers is handled by Valuemation XML Import/Export. The imported data must be stored in a text file in an XML structure. It is also important to adjust the imported data so that it matches the data structure of Valuemation offer packages or offers, depending on what is imported.

Offers can be imported with or without references to item types and offer packages. Also new item types and new offer packages can be imported along within the same file. All attributes of Valuemation offers are defined as optional (= not mandatory to contain data). This allows for importing only the data available in the source file and adding other data afterwards. If "plain" offers are imported, they should be linked to an offer package and item types afterwards, using appropriate Valuemation actions.
