Release Support

The Release Support is the operation-handling group. It creates and processes the release tasks.

Assigned to: 'Release Support' support group

Authorization role: 'Release Support'

The Release Support group includes all users who are responsible for processing release activities within the Release Management – from creation to planning and to the development through testing. Members can process the release, enter information in text format or set planned deadlines.

Release Manager

The Release Manager is able to create and process the release tasks too but the processing is mainly focused on the approval process activities (which are denied for the Release Support).

Authorization Role: 'Release Manager'

The members of the Release Managers group always have an option of performing the same activities in the Release Management. In addition to these activities, the members of the Release Managers group can also approve or reject a release, or declare it to be unsuccessful.

Only the Release Manager is authorized to set a release into the 'Implementation failed (RE)' status.
