Optional Components

It is possible to mark a component not crucial for the functioning of a system as 'optional'.

To mark a component optional:

1. Open the component for editing.
2. Select the 'Optional' check box in the 'Master' section of the component editor.

The quality of being optional is inherited all the way throughout the requesting process. Items based on optional components are also offered as optional and in the process of incoming goods the created 'physical' components are marked as optional.

This flag is further used when an uninstall operation is requested, when only optional components are offered for removal from the system.
