Notification Editor

Individual notifications can be created and edited using the 'Edit: Notification' editor. The editor provides four tabs and the following structure:

Tab / Attribute

Function

Tab: Event

Observed Type

Valuemation business object type which is monitored by the notification

Active

Determines whether the notification is active or just set up but deactivated.

Condition

Notify When

The actual condition for the notification. Currently only two conditions are available: 'Count Greater Than' and 'Count Less Than'. Works together with the 'Threshold' attribute.

Threshold

The number of observed objects which triggers the notification. Works together with the 'Notify When' attribute. For example: Notify When = 'Count Greater Than' and Threshold = 10 would mean that if more than 10 objects of the observed object type fulfill the condition (set in attribute 'Condition'), then notification is triggered.

Notification Name

Tab: Frequencies

Check Period

Currently only the 'Send Mail' action can be used with notifications. The 'Action' tab contains settings for sending the email. For a description of the functions please see the 'Info Tab' topic under 'Email Templates'.

Tab: Status

The 'Status' tab summarizes the current notification status

Last Count

Number of objects fulfilling the condition at the moment of last check. Even if no notification has been triggered on the basis of this number (because 'Notification Period' is set to a higher value than 'Check Period', you can still see this attribute for the last available 'observed' value (count).
