Path Settings

Path Settings specify paths to external applications and local directories.

  • Local directory

    Path to the directory where Valuemation files are installed.

  • Temporary directory

    Path to the directory for temporary work files created by Valuemation processes.

  • External HTML Browser

    Path to the exe file of an application used as a browser for any HTML files (e.g. MS IE, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc). If left empty, default Internet browser is used.

  • External PDF viewer

    Path to the exe file of an application used as a viewer for any PDF files (e.g. Acrobat Reader, Foxit Reader, etc).

  • External RTF viewer

    Path to the exe file of an application used by Valuemation to open RTF files. (e.g. MS Word, WordPad, etc).

  • External DOC viewer

    Path to the exe file of an application used by Valuemation to open DOC files (e.g. MS Word, WordPad, etc).

  • External XLS viewer

    Path to the exe file of an application used by Valuemation to open XLS files (e.g. MS Excel, Libre Office Calc, etc).

  • External PPT viewer

    Path to the exe file of an application used by Valuemation to open PPT files (e.g. MS PowerPoint, Libre Office Impress, etc).

  • Use external editor to edit workflow scripts

    When selected, an external editor is used for editing of wokflows. The related fields bellow become editable.

  • Working File Directory

    Location of workflow scripts edited in the external editor.

  • Original File Directory

    Location of original Valuemation workflow scripts.

  • External Editor

    Path to the exe file which starts the external workflows editor.

  • Merge Tool KDiff3

    Path to the exe file which starts the external merge tool. KDiff3 is the recommended freeware tool.

Note: Values of user-installation specific parameters are stored in file 'vm.ini' located in the root of the Valuemation installation directory. Section [UserSettings] can be used to define default values of installation specific parameters common for all Valuemation users.
