Help

'Help Settings' administer paths to source help files. The same settings can also be found under 'Global Settings'. Which of the two settings are used is determined by the 'Use following setting for currently logged in user' check box (see below).

• Use following setting for currently logged in user
  • If selected, settings made in this page are used (user settings override global settings).
  • If cleared, help settings made in global settings are used and user settings are "turned off".
• Customer help used

  If checked, mapping to standard Valuemation Help topics will not be used and defined customer documentation will be used instead.

Several help localizations are currently supported. Each of the help versions must be put in a fixed location within Valuemation root directory:

• For English help, the default location is: (Valuemation root folder)\doc\help\English
• For German/Swiss German: (Valuemation root folder)\doc\help\German
• For Italian: (Valuemation root folder)\doc\help\Italian

• For Arabic: (Valuemation root folder)\doc/help/Arabic
• For French: (Valuemation root folder)\doc/help/French

Use the language-specific fields of the 'Help Setting' window to specify alternative help paths, including the file which starts the help system. For example, "(Valuemation root folder)\doc\help\English\index.htm" starts the standard English help.

• Default Help Path

  'Default Help Path' points to a default help file which is called when the language-specific help corresponding to the currently selected GUI language cannot be found.
