Limitations

Using the Incremental Data Retrieval method for reading large amounts of data solves many performance problems and makes it safe to display unlimited numbers of objects from the database, thus making the overall performance of the application more predictable even when stretched to its limits. There are, however, some limitations of the method which need to be explained.

This topic provides:

  • full explanation of the limitations and the inner workings behind them
  • example of catalog behaviour when limitations occur
  • brief overview of limitations, their causes and available workarounds
