Creating a New Search Configuration

To create a new search configuration:

  1. Click the 'Create' button below

    OR

right-click to call a context menu and select 'Create'.

The Object Type Browser appears with some selected object types.

Note: Only the root types of object types are listed. If an object type is missing, it means it is not the root type. Make it the root type in the Object Type Customizer so that it appears in the browser.

  2. Select the desired object type and double-click or click 'OK' to proceed.

    The 'New:Search Configuration' editor opens.

The name of the Object Type and GUID are already pre-filled, you can define a condition, add a description and select the 'Order by Score' and 'Enabled' options. Below in the 'Attributes' tab you can see that attributes to be used for searching have been pre-filled too: The system detected which attributes have been indexed with the full text index or the unique index and listed them here automatically.

Note that you cannot add, edit or remove the attributes manually but you can update the list using the 'Update Attributes' button. Alternatively, right-click to call a context menu with the same option. You must use this function when you additionally create a full text index for an attribute.

Use the 'Enabled' check box to enable/disable the possibility of searching in the corresponding attribute.
