Working with the 'News Channel' Catalog

News channel objects serve the purpose of news authorization. Each news message must be assigned to a news channel. News channels are authorized using Valuemation Authorization Manager. A user authorized for a particular news channel can read the news messages assigned to that news channel.

To create a new News Channel:

1. Open the 'News Channel' catalog. (You may need to add the catalog to the sidebar first.)
2. Use the right-click context menu to call action 'Create. The 'New: News-Channel' editor opens.
3. Fill in the individual fields (see below for details).
4. Save the changes.

The 'News-Channel' editor contains the following fields:

• Title

  Fill in a title of the new channel.

• Description

  Add a description of the new channel (optional).

• News

  Use the 'News' section of the editor to add and administer messages belonging to the news channel.
