Condition Based on Request

This example use case shows how to define approval on the basis of a condition for the whole Request. The condition here is applied to total price.

  1. From the 'SRM Manager' sidebar, open the 'SRM Configurable Tasks' catalog.
  2. Create a new task definition. Use the 'Create' context menu action in the catalog.
  3. Specify the task definition.
    • Task Type = Approve Request
    • Assign to Item = No
This way you specify the approval as an approval according to condition.
    • Task Area = the area of approval
    • Generate Task Results = Yes
    • Assignment = Group / Person (Standard)
  4. Use button Edit General Condition to define when the approval is relevant. In the Choose Attribute dialog, navigate to attributes belonging to the whole Request and select the appropriate attribute to create the condition ('Request.Net Total Price' in our example).

When the condition defined for a Request is fulfilled, internal approval tasks (SRM Configurable Task Results) are generated for all Request Items belonging to the Request matching the condition.
