Opening Target Objects of Relation AttributesWhen a relation attribute of an object is audited, the old/new target (reference) object of the relation attribute can be opened from the catalog of audited changes. There are two actions - Open Target for Old Value and Open Target for New Value - available in the context menu of the catalog of audited changes. Note: For information on relation attributes in reference lists see the Reference lists topic. Open Target for Old Value The Open Target for Old Value action is available for the RC (remove collection) and U (update) change types of relation attributes. Example: When a Component is removed from a System, it is depicted by history record for relation attribute "compsystems.component". The new value is empty. The old value contains a foreign key to the removed Component and a time constraint from the time-related link object. Another history record for "compsystems" says that some link object was deleted. Catalog of Audited Changes menu: the Open Target for Old Value action active Open Target for New Value The Open Target for New Value action is available for the IC (input collection) and U (update) change types of relation attributes. Example: When a Location is assigned to a System, it is depicted by history record for relation attribute "syslocations.location". The old value is empty. The new value contains a foreign key to the Location and also a time constraint from the time-related link object. Another history record for "syslocations" says that a new link object was created to implement a time-related link between the System and the Location. Catalog of Audited Changes menu: the Open Target for New Value action active Displaying Target Objects When a target object exists and the user trying to open it has been granted sufficient rights for viewing it, the target object is displayed in its default view (defined for the target object type). Otherwise, only a message informing that the target object cannot be opened is displayed. Message: target object deleted or insufficient rights | |||||
