eq (equals), eq_ and cmp

For historical reasons, two 'CompareEquals' functions exist: 'eq' (CompareEquals) and 'eq_' (CompareEqualsWithNull). Both behave in the same way.

  • Functionality

    Compares two objects to check if object1 equals object2.

    • If object1 equals object2 then eq(object1, object2) => True
    • If object1 not equals object2 then eq(object1, object2) => False

    Same for function 'eq_'.

    The function handles null values in the following way:

    • eq(notnull, null) => False
    • eq(null, notnull) => False
    • eq(null, null) => True

    Same for function 'eq_'.

  • Arguments

    eq(Object object1,Object object2)

    eq_(Object object1,Object object2)

  • Return

    A boolean value.

Example:

eq_(totalprice, grossprice)

is equivalent to

or(and(isNull(totalprice), isNull(grossprice)), not(or(isNull(totalprice), isNull(grossprice))), eq(totalprice, grossprice))
