Important Object Types

• Business Criticality

  Business Criticality is a key object type for the Business Impact Analysis and Continuous Business Criticality improvements.

  If you open the 'Business Criticality' object type in the editor, the following settings and definitions can be made:

  

• Disruption Probability

  The 'Disruption Probability' objects represent a kind of Urgency. It states how probable is that this kind of service would fail.

  The following values are defined:

  • low, value 3
  • med, value 2
  • high, value 1

  Hint: Only those with “service_relevant” = TRUE are assignable to Services (and appropriate for Systems).

• Disruption Impact

  The 'Disruption Impact' objects represent a kind of Impact. It states the impact of the disruption of a service.

  The following values are defined:

  • low, value 3
  • med, value 2
  • high, value 1

  Hint: Only those with “service_relevant” = TRUE are assignable to Services (and appropriate for Systems).

• Violation Risk

  The 'Violation Risk' objects match the Priority. The violation risk comes out based on the previous Risk Analysis matrix.

  The following values are defined:

  • low, value 4
  • med, value 3
  • high, value 2
  • critical, value 1

  Hint: Only those with “service_relevant” = TRUE are assignable to Services (and appropriate for Systems).

• Services (and Service-Service)

  An additional context attribute documents the scope of recovery.

  The following values are defined:

  • Full and Recovery
  • Full only
  • Recovery only
• Systems (and System-Service)

  An additional context attribute documents the scope of recovery.
